Digital Art + Nature Exploring Camp/Jun

Immerse yourself in the creative world of digital art while connecting with nature in our Digital Art + Nature Exploring summer camp! From learning digital art, and channel your inspiration into digital masterpieces, to explore the beauty of the outdoors through guided nature walks, this camp offers a perfect blend of artistic expression and outdoor adventure for all budding artists and nature enthusiasts.

Digital Art Sessions:
Campers will learn Photoshop Elements and its features including file management, layers, drawing, editing, object selecting, basic coloring, and more. They'll enhance their proficiency with digital drawing tablets through engaging exercises and games. The week culminates in a Personal Project where campers craft their first digital art based on their favorite character!

Equipped with ASUS gaming laptops featuring dedicated graphics cards and ASUS Pro-Art 27" monitors, students will utilize Adobe Photoshop Elements, an ideal introduction to various drawing platforms and a simplified version of the industry-standard Photoshop.

Each camper will receive a printed version of their personal project and a certificate of completion and evaluation, with digital files emailed to parents. Selected works may also be showcased on our website, social media platforms, or even as posters!

Nature Exploring Sessions:

Campers will go on a nature walk with our Nature Expert at a local park such as Ellanor C. Lawrence Park or Battlefield Park every day. Each day will focus on a specific nature study. During these nature walks, campers will also learn a poem, look at and discuss a piece of art, study certain types of creature and do a nature journal entry all related to each day's topic. Campers will be reminded to respect nature and to leave it the way we found it as well as safe ways to explore nature.

We plan to go outdoors as long as the weather permits, avoiding heavy rain and thunderstorms with lightning. Please dress accordingly. If outdoor activities aren't possible, we'll have indoor substitutes like museum visits.

Note: Each camper will be provided a nature journal and other study supplies.

• Transportation between DigiKidz and the local parks will be provided by DigiKidz. Parents will drop off and pick up the campers at DigiKidz.
