DigiKidz Digital Art Contest - Summer 2026

Congratulations to our winners of the Summer 2026 contest. They each win a 100 dollar gift certificate to Fantastic/Blowout Cards store in Chantilly, VA!

Note: This contest was very close and making final decisions was hair-splitting hard. In the case of a tie, the winner was chosen by who most carefully stuck to the contest guidelines.  Since it was so close, we are offering free four-weeks of lessons ($300 value) to the Honorable Mention artists noted after the two winners. Seriously,  great work by all contestants!

 • All Ages (Winner) - "Alabaster Icelands" by @Green+Rabb1t

Description: "This artwork was inspired by how much I love the Pokémon franchise and one specific game called ‘Legends Arceus’. The setting is in the snow biome where I constantly grind and win many many battles."

 • Students 8-18 (WINNER) - "Umbreon used Dark Pulse!" by Moonrise (Moonrise_Creates on YouTube)  

Description: "Umbreon is battling in a foggy forest with its trainer, Jett. Umbreon is using Dark Pulse which is why the title is what it is. I used a spiral composition format for this drawing and included foreground, middle ground, and background."

 Judges comments:

"This is the submission that feels most complete to me in terms of composition, action, trainer, drawing skill, and digital tools. It was immediately striking for the foggy and glowing atmosphere and sense of space. Love the dark pulse and the connection to the title." - Katie T. (FCPS Art Educator)

"I’m simply blown away by this Pokemon in action piece. Illustrating Umbreon dark type power shows the full range of what it can do along with its trainer leading Umbreon to victory. I also like the mist effect that was added to this that give a feeling of being in the darkest part of the woods.." - Eric S. (The Art Way Alliance Founder - @artwayalliance)

Important contest tip: Please follow the prompt and requirements as closely as possible. While we love to see your artwork, contests have specific guidelines like topics/themes, judging criteria and also deadlines. If you have questions, please ask.

• "Mega Eelektross" by Andrew M.

Note: Andrew's work was actually a tie for winner in the All-Ages category. Judges cited the sense of motion and wonderful texture work in the piece. This art and style is beautiful and can have so many applications. On top of being displayed as a stand-alone art piece, it would also make a great shirt or even mouse-pad design. Although the piece is visually striking, it lacks a trainer which is a bonus element. Adding a trainer (or some other element) would have also provided a sense of scale. Other than that, amazing work!

 

 • "Snowy Day" by Joseph Kim 

Note: We love the composition, texture and colors of this Poke-inspired piece even though it didn't closely follow the prompt. The scene staging, multiple characters drawings and their amazing expressions are awesome. With two light sources in the image, a little more shading work on the Pokemon would have lifted them off the background given the cool color palette of the entire piece. Fantastic work overall!

 

 

 

Calling all digital artists! The DigiKidz DigiArtz Summer 2026 Contest is online. We're excited to partner with The Fantastic Store - Blowout Cards in Chantilly, VA to bring you a total of $200 in prizes for each 2026 Summer, Fall and Winter contest. The Fantastic Store has a great selection of TCG, sports cards, plushies and even Lego kits. There's something for just about everyone. 

Every season, we’ll post a new art prompt or challenge question – and you’ll submit your best digital artwork before the deadline. Entry is FREE. Whether you're into character design, environments, animation-style art, or abstract creations — this is your moment to shine!

• Tips:

1) Please be sure all work is completely original! Inserting a photo or image created by others as part of the art will NOT be accepted!

2) Do NOT put your name on the artwork for the contest! This helps us have fair judging.

3) Be sure to fill out the form and submit your image.

4) Have fun drawing! We're happy you want to compete, but if you have fun and draw something you are passionate about, the art will show it!

• Judging

Entries will be judged on the four following criteria. Each for a maximum of 5 points totaling 20.

  1. Theme Interpretation - How well does the artwork reflect the contest’s theme or prompt? Judges look for clear connections to the challenge, creative storytelling, or thoughtful ideas expressed visually.
  2. Originality and Creativity  - Is the concept unique and imaginative? Points are awarded for fresh ideas, personal expression, and out-of-the-box thinking that shows the artist’s individuality.
  3. Artistic Skill and Effort - Does the piece show attention to detail, effort, and thoughtful design? This includes composition, line work, color choices, and overall balance—adjusted for age level and experience.
  4. Digital Technique and Visual Impact - Is the digital medium used effectively to enhance the art? Judges assess use of layers, brushes, textures, and digital tools. Does the piece catch the eye and leave a strong impression?
